In the midst of the 2013 harvest a small parcel of Pinot Noir grapes was unexpectedly offered to our winery. Sceptical at first, as anyone would be of an unannounced arrival, we none-the-less invited them in and decided to attempt our first Rosé. The grapes were de-stemmed and left to soak overnight to extract colour and flavour from the skins. Upon pressing the fruit the following morning our scepticism immediately started to melt away. The unfermented juice already displayed an amiable demeanour and promised to improve on further acquaintance. Which was indeed the case. Rapidly becoming a favourite with our team, this wine is upfront and charming, straightforward, charismatic, delicious and eager to please. A delightful surprise.
This Single Release wine was handcrafted by the crew at Rimu Grove Winery. Limited to a ridiculously low number of bottles, this wine reflects the spirit of innovation, creativity and general eccentricity of the folks who make our wines.
